The Meek

A sound emanating from mysterious craters across the globe is turning people into killers. The geologist investigating the craters has to fight his way across the country to find his deaf wife.

God asks us to sacrifice. To make an offering to him. Burnt offerings. That’s what he wants. That’s what he’s taking.
— THE MEEK

THE MEEK was a semi-finalist in the 2016 Academy Nicholl screenwriting competition, the most competitive and prestigious screenplay competition in the world.

The story was inspired by a series of viral videos documenting strange, trumpet-like sounds in the sky. The videos became a jumping-off point for a story about survival in a world where mankind is destroying itself.

And to stay on-brand for Ryan, it’s also about the fears of parenthood.
